Kayla + Trey’s dreamy fine art engagement session at the Duke Mansion in Charlotte, North Carolina was very special. Before their Old Edwards Inn wedding this September, we met up at the Duke Mansion in Charlotte, NC to capture their engagement photos. Having a film photographer with a fine art style was very important to Kayla and Trey, so I really enjoyed collaborating with Kayla on styling their session. A whimsical bouquet arranged by Aunt Willie’s Wildflowers and stunning hair and make-up by Latia Curtis elevated their photos for that editorial look Kayla was really hoping for.
Although the storm clouds were circling, the wind was blowing constantly, thunder was crackling, and it was raining off and on throughout our time together- we made the most of it and stayed through sunset for that dreamy backlit glow everyone dreams of for their engagement session. I hope you enjoy their photos as much as I do. If you like this session, you should go look at my Rockwood Lodge Editorial with Beckon Events or Ashley + Shane’s Elopement at North Carolina Arboretum.
I am so excited for their wedding this fall at Old Edwards Inn. It will be the dreamiest day with one of my favorite wedding planners, I cannot wait to see all the gorgeous details come together for this wonderful couple who I have come to love and consider dear friends!
